What you need to know about our operations during this time.

As our beautiful snow-capped mountains and rolling lowlands begin to melt we know spring is in the air. This is when our rural communities come back to life and the hustle and bustle begins to prepare for the exciting summer season. Although we know that energy is still here, it is hidden as we stay home for all our safety. We are all still looking forward to sharing our landscape and warm hospitality with you but we know the timing of this has changed.

We hope you are staying safe and well during these unprecedented times and our hearts go out to the thousands of families around the world who have lost their loved ones. As we move thorough this pandemic know we will support the medical guidelines of practicing physical distancing and will continue to be vigilant to do our part to flatten the curve. As restrictions change daily and weeks feel like months, know that when you’re ready to travel again we WILL be here!

Tour Gros Morne and Taste of Gros Morne have been actively involved in getting weekly briefings from our provincial and federal tourism ministers about travel restrictions and projections for across Canada. This allows us to be ready for restart when the word is given. We know many of you have plans or strong intentions to come experience this unique corner of the world that is known for its hospitality and sense of place. Well, we’re not going anywhere! The beautiful landscapes, wide open spaces and colorful characters will all be here to greet you when the time is right. As a passionate operator in the tourism sector, we have contributed the last 10 years to working in rural communities of NL and Gros Morne to help develop tourism opportunities. In our region, we work in partnership and stick together like family. During this pandemic, our days are filled working with all our partners to weather this storm. As a region, know we are working to reassess and update our health and safety practices that you can trust while staying here. These standards will allow you to come and explore our little piece of heaven with the least amount of stress post COVID-19 lockdown.

Please look at our updated bookings and experiences information found below. Trust that we will continue to follow the medical advice of our province and the WHO to run a safe operation. We will add information here as it becomes available. In the mean time, our guides starting next month, will be offering fun virtual tours of Gros Morne. This experience with a guide will allow you walk you through the park and they will provide insights and interpretation so stay tuned!

Deposits*

On new bookings

For our multi-day tours; Land & Sea, Hiking Adventure and Bucket List Tours, we require a $200 deposit upon booking. This deposit is refundable within 7 days of booking and non-refundable after that time if you choose to cancel. Should a tour be cancelled or not accessible due to travel restrictions, the deposit is fully refundable or can be applied to a 2021 booking.Our payment guidelines are requiring the 50% payment for the tour to be paid 30 days prior to the tour start date, instead of the previous 60 days. This will give our guests more time to make informed decisions for their tour.

Our single day experiences; Signature Day Hike, Cultural Explorer Day Trip and, Taste of Gros Morne Food Tours, do not require a deposit. Reservations are required 48 hours in advance at the latest and can be made using our online booking service. For Taste of Gros Morne Frequently Asked Questions please click here.

On previous bookings

We are continuing with our full refund policy should you not be able to travel on your confirmed dates due to imposed travel restrictions. If this is your case, we are encouraging you to re-book for 2021 and are offering a price match for all experiences and tours booked in 2020 for delivery in 2021. If you would like to transfer your deposit to the same week next year that booking will be available.

For those of you that are concerned about travel and are not currently affected by travel restrictions i.e. booked for July, August and September we are optimistic for these tours to be deliverable but again time will tell. Please contact us if you have any concerns and we will be following up with you.

Tour Gros Morne does recommend that all of our guests invest in medical and trip cancellation insurance policies to protect them while travelling. We also suggest reviewing the active COVID-19 clauses prior to your insurance purchase.

Experiences

We feel our operations were built for this! Our tours are purpose built custom tours for couples, families and small groups up to 6. We are in the 3rd largest national park in eastern Canada and opposite of other national parks in terms of visitation and crowds. Our guests often say it feels like they have a park to themselves and that will continue to be. We have two, 15 passenger leather seated vans to handle our guests and luggage therefore giving lots of space with a through cleaning of the entire van daily. While we will be adjusting our tours to allow for single tours or just couples, we also will be looking at other ways to make sure your safety and needs are met. This is no different than our usual care and attention for all our guests that has made us an award winning operation.
